My New Winch Plate From BSERK!

BSERK'S WINCH PLATE!

This thing is COOL! Couldn't have been done any better ANYWHERE!
For the price he's charging, you are a FOOL to buy anywhere else!

This guy is a REAL JEEPER and just proved it without a doubt to me!

FULL 1/4" PLATE, Welded in back stop, Front welded and ground for fairlead and Safety Welded,

Side Plates are WONDERFUL,
CAME WITH ALL THE BOLTS, LOCK NUTS, FRAME GUSSETS, ECT.!

THIS THING ROCKS!
Best part is, I didn't have to sweat my guts out doing it for hours on end in 90°+ weather with 90% humidity!

That may be next!
My old factory bumper is damaged (Saved the Jeep!) but I like the old time bumper/brush guard from the factory look...
Call me an idiot, but I think they are 'Cool' on an old wreck like my Heep.

It's official, the winch components/install is officially worth more than the entire rest of the Jeep!

2/0 Welding cable (anyone looked at the cost of copper lately!)
Heavy terminals (Battery Clamps were $30 alone!)
Heavy Connectors (most people won't need, but I'm going all out on this one)
New Relays to pass enough current to the winch but still keep the batteries isolated,
And all the 'Extras' to make this 'Pretty' since it's going to be splashed on the forum, stuff I wouldn't normally do in a 'Work Vehicle'...
Winch plate, which I screwed up the one I was building, so it cost me over $100 for materials I butchered before I even ordered this plate from BSERK,
And the winch it's self, which if it doesn't get here soon, I'm not going to get that REBATE they are offering...

I've spent more money on the current winch set up than I've spent on the entire rest of the Jeep...
Is that wrong on a '73 rust bucket with the body falling off?

The next costliest thing was tires, which I only spent $500 on...
Or maybe the springs, that was about $600 and took 3 years to get all the parts from the manufacturer
All this going on a $500 Jeep... What's wrong with us?

JH you act like you like that old thing or something. Kidding of course. That is a nice winch plate and you're right it's made by one of us right here in the USA!!!!!

NOTICE the winch plate is dropped directly in the center of the hood for pictures.
That should tell you something!

When I purchased it, the Amish had it jacked up, two steel wheels welded together turning a belt to drive a water pump.

They told me it was "BLOWED UP- Rod Knocking", and I could take it home for $500.

I got it cranking (Wouldn't start) but I told the guy it sounded like ignition problems that was keeping it from running,
And that the 'Rod Knocking' sounded like an exhaust leak in the aftermarket headers someone had put on...

HE SAYS, Pulling on his beard...
"IT'S BLOWED UP, YOU WANT IT OR NOT?"

I didn't argue, I slapped on a wheel/tire where the two bare rims where, aired up the other three and rolled it onto the trailer.

Got home, found the breaker points distributor wouldn't hold 12 degrees of dwell,
Yanked the distributor, converted to electronic ignition, plugged it back in,
AND STARTED THE ENGINE...

Yup, black stain on the fire wall from the leaking exhaust tube...
Been driving it ever sense.

Actually purchased it for title and parts, but found out it had a nearly PERFECT frame, so it's a DRIVER.

Now it has rebuilt axles, lockers, new lock outs, disc brakes in the front, new tires, lift springs (Actually couldn't find factory springs to replace the sway backed nags that were in it),
And, well, you know how it goes...
One thing leads to another! $-$$-$$$-$$$$-$$$$$-$$$$$$-$$$$$$$-$$$$$$$$- You get the idea...

Besides, this is my 'Test Bed' for crap I want to work out before I do it to my '79 CJ-7 or my '86 FSJ...
Good to screw it up here before I burn down one of the vehicles that actually look pretty good...

Plate painted FINALLY!

70+ Percent Humidity makes for some SLOW PAINTING!
Nothing wants to dry!

Can't wait until it's cooled down here and I can install this thing!

Go to this thread,
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/cj...d-faqs-616192/

Click on BSERK's name in the top left corner and send him a PM...
He'll get back with you pretty quickly!

Can't say enough GOOD THINGS about this winch plate,
The only thing I found I changed was it came with some 'Grade 5' bolts, which I changed.

I KNOW! I KNOW!
You are SUPPOSED to use Grade 5 in a pulling/sheering situation, but I'm funny about those things!

Just OCD (Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder) setting in, and since I have a bolt bin here, it was a short walk and no real cost.

This plate is OVERBUILT by every standard I could come up with, and since I found cracked rivet 'Eyes' in my front cross member when I took the bumper off (No way to fix without taking the front cross member out and welding up/working down the eyes and using bolts or new rivets),
This winch plate is the reinforcement for my factory damaged front cross member!

Working out GREAT for me so far!

I'm trying to order one also.

If only BSERK would give me a shipping quote. j/k Its more my fault for asking him to ship parcel post due to cost to hawaii, instead of ups or fedex.
