My New 83 CJ5

Hey All,

Thanks for all the advice over the last few weeks. I took the plunge and bought this 1983 cj5. It has the 258 with a 4 speed and dana 300. Axles are the dana30 in front and the amc20 in the rear. (SEE LINK AT BOTTOM FOR PICS)

The Body is rust free with the exception of a spot in one of the rear fender wells.

It appears that someone had grand plans for this in the past. It appears that the tub has been off; the frame is painted and in great shape. I just pulled the roll cage off the vehicle; it had an exocage (not well constructed...) and am gonna pull the tub in the next few days to figure out exactly what I have.

It looks like the frame is fully boxed (minus the cross-members). I thought they weren't??? Or am I misinformed?

EXCITED!!! BUT HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS?

Are 35's too big for a cj5???
Opinions on SOA???
What year heads from the 4.0L work on the 258??? Anyone have a link for good instructions on this switch?

Sounds like a good jeep. Pics aren't working though, at least for me. (new link works)

I like the rims, if you ever plan to let them go, let me know. I haven't had much luck finding a set.
