my jeep project

Ok this is my project. I named it WANTED because the first day i got i was followed around town for 45mins by the cops before they final pulled me over. They said it didnt look to safe for the road but everything works, to much rust for them i guess.

SO my project is going to be a 1978 cj7 it has a 258 3 speed all stock nothing as ever been done to it but the drivetrain is all good runs good drives good. the body is junk and the fram is good.

My plan if it allworks it put in dana 44 and a dana 60 with a 350 and a turbo 400 i think maybe a manual. I just found a 89 wrangler 98% rust free.

Ill keep you all posted with my project and im sure i will have lots of questions since this my first one i am building. if you have any ideas for me let me know im hoping to build a on road/off road jeep something like 3-4 in of lift want to run 33 to 35 in tires.

Check out my jeep pictures - http://www.flickr.com/photos/wanted_jeep/

I wouldn't bother running a D60 unless I was going to run at least 35" tires. Otherwise, that pumpkin is gonna drag quite a bit. If you're set on the bigger axles, then run 35-38 inch rubber. Otherwise, I would run the stock axles (maybe some one-piece shafts) until they break.

the projected is started

It was a tough fight but we won the body is final off we took it off in 2 pieces cause it was so rusted out. But the good news the fram is soild hoping to get it to the sand blaster this week. Motor and all should be out wensday night.

How much is the drive tran worth if any can give me any ideas 258 with a 3 speed t150, trans case axles all stock that comes on a 1978 cj7. Looking to sell how soon i dont know or trade for 350 radiator for a jeep and motor mounts and anything else i need to make this work.
