Hello everyone, Just purchased my first jeep, Its a 1976 CJ5 with the 258, Had to replace the cam and lifters when I bought it and clean the carb, and it fired up and is running great. Has a rattle can paint job but I will be doing something about that soon, but right now just changed all the fluids and got the lights working, just gonna play in it for now before doing much more to it for now. Loking forward to learning alot about jeeps while being on here. :tea:

Looks pretty solid from the picture.
Give it a good going over, change all of the fluids, and any safety maintenance, and enjoy.:cheers2:
You will find plenty that needs done before you start into the list of things that you want done.

Cool

Your rear axle appears to be forward of center. Looks like it won't take much for the tires to rub. Also, I would do something with that fire extinguisher. Does not do much good if you are stuck figuring out what to do with those zip ties. They are not going to break or cut easily in a time of need.

I don't know, with your pride and joy going up in flames it is amazing what supehuman strength you can find. A mere 5mm plastic tie would not stop me.

I already tested the zip ties, they break apart pretty easily, just stuck it there for now, will get a holder for it later.

How would you go about correcting the axle off center, I would need a longer drive shaft if I moved it back also wouldn't I.
