My CJ7 build

I've been meaning to start a thread on my build and figured I'd start it now that things are starting to progress. I ha do wait a month and a half to get the right adapt for a th400 to np231. So far I have removed the rear axle, suspension and installed an SYE on a 89 comanche np231. I have front and rear d60s from a 78 ford f250 waiting to go in as well. I am hoping to pull the shafts on the d60s tomorrow. I've cleaned them up but have not had a chance to paint them. I have a 4" rusty's lift as well waiting to be put in. I plan on ordering poison spyders wide axle kit for the front. I have not decide what I am going to do with the steering but I am leaning towards a psc hydraulic system. I am hoping I can find something cheaper to get me by until than. I bought the CJ May 4th and have not driven it more than around the neighborhood so I am very anxious. I've been searching craigslist daily for some 38.5" tires. So far no luck but I have a few weeks till everything is done.

Overall the CJ is in fairly good shape. The inside is flawless. A paint job and the body should be good to go. I'm hoping my parents will allow me to paint the CJ in their garage. I painted my S2000 in there last summer. Can you believe I sold a 10 second s2000 so I could buy another Jeep and get back into things? I had a TJ a few years ago that I sold and ended up buying an 09 Grand Cherokee. The frame will need some patching on the rear. I've cleaned it up pretty well, but still need to cut a few spots out and reweld.

I bought a master cylinder from a YJ. Here is a picture of it cleaned up and primed.

Here is a picture of the NP231 with an SYE and primed

A picture of the rear d60. I pulled the shafts and differ cover to make sure everything looked good. Everything looked brand new and the oil was pretty cleaned to. You can see in the pictures I've started cleaning the axle getting it ready. I also started to cut everything off but need a new cut off disk

Pulled off the low case from the qudtratrac. I have two bolts left and the whole transfer case should be out.

Do not mind the tape. The window came off track and I've been too lazy to try and fix it.

I really hope so. It would be sooo nice to get things going. It seems like it's either pouring out or we it a stump right away.

Hopefully after this weekend it will be on all fours in no time. Once the transfer case is in it should take long to get the rear axle in and the front shouldn't be as bad. Knock on wood.

I have broke water pump on the ZJ. I've been trying all day to remove the fan clutch.

I started this thread several months ago and never updated it. I found a steal on a YJ and decided to restore the CJ. It has taken a lot longer then expected, but things are finally starting to get done. The rear is just about done. I had to install new shackle mount sections. I ran out of wire. Other than that the rear shocks have to be installed and the rears done. The frame has been coated with por-15. I started the front leaf springs this afternoon. I am hoping to have them done tomorrow.

I then will have to work on the rear brakes and install a yj brake booster. I have not driven the CJ since I bought it back in May. I cannot wait for everything to be done. In a week or do I'm hoping to do a little body work and than start painting. I will try and get pictures up tomorrow for those who are interested.

Are you interested in selling the low range off the quadtra track transfercase?

Another fork in the road. I was given the wrong u bolts for the front. Looks like I won't be able to finish the front until this weekend.
