One of the BBC Jeeps in our group used long tube 1 7/8" headers for a Chevelle with the stock frame. I believe they fit with no problems in his CJ7

'76 CJ5
434 pump gas SBC with an NX/HVH plate system
th350/Coan 5,000 converter/Dana 300 tcase
Dana 30 front with 4.56's/Dana 44 rear with 4.88's

making a little progress. put on the hydraboost system off of an 85 1 ton.

That is indeed one bad Jeep. I love it man. Just be careful, it's bound to be a hand full when the loud pedal is on the floor.

drove the jeep today.. what a rush thats all i can say. i still have a few odd things to button up. i have a video i will try to get on in the next day or two.

Is the chassis able to cope with so much torque?

Even with beefy axles and shackles are there any mods to prevent the whole lot from parting company with the frame?

yes lots of extra bracing and added crossmembers and i started with a perfect frame. im sure in time it will fail when it does i think im going to build my own frame to handle it. but i will have fun while it lasts. anyway its huge on wow factor..lol
