Check out Mcintosh stereos. They have a vintage look and are arguably the best stereo ever made. They are pricey though.

Yes!! I knew someone had to have some experience with this unit. Thanks for replying.
Are you using a stock antenna with it?
Thanks,
Matt

Thanks,
I could only find one auto radio on their website, and it won't fit the CJ dash without cutting.

Here.... read starting at post # 149

To me this is the way to go if you want to keep it original.

I'd love to go that route, if only I could find a working original in good shape.
Thanks,

If I had to replace it, I would buy a model from RetroSoudUSA.com for $10.00 more then that one from E-bay you posted. It comes with factory type and look of OEM knobs.

This is most likely the route I'll go when I get to that point.

Hey, not all of us have gone over to MP3 players yet, or see the need to.

I have looked at these before also. It's either this or get the Tuffy center console w/stereo bay. I don't want to hijack buuut, why is the original Tuffy box so much more money than the one with the stereo bay? Because it is built much more sturdy?

Are there any off road shops, or any vendors in general, that sell the retro sound radio? I usually like to go through a site supporter or jeep guy when buying parts. I could just order direct, but I like giving people the business. They are very cool and the ipod connect is really nice.

JC Whitney sells them, but they put quite a markup on them.

I found one at autozone for $30.00. Has aux input but analog tuning. Not the best stereo in the world but as long as I can hear it I'm happy. And I didnt have to cut the dash.

Thanks for all the replies, gentleman.
I've ordered the RetroSound unit with the original looking knobs. I know pictures and advertising can be deceptive, but the RS unit just appears higher quality than the eBay unit I originally posted.
I'll try to resurrect this thread and post some pics when I get around to the install.
Thanks again,
Matt
