Looks spectacular, MoC!!

I'm starting to wish I would have gone the base/clear route. It sounds easier to work with than single stage.

Matt

Thanks sir! Having never properly wet sanded, cut, and buffed before I was surprised at how "easy" it was. I just went real slow on the wet sand, sanding and drying several times. Once it was dry I was able to see where the orange peel still was. After a little bit I also learned to feel how the properly wet sanded surface felt when wet.

If the fenders turn out like the hood I don't have a problem going to the same painter for the rest of the tub.

Yeah, that's money shots! Looking great MoC. Keep up the good work. You are ready to step out and spray the tub yourself. You may be surprised how much you would enjoy it. It also makes you not panic so much when you have to do a ding repair or God forbid you burn through while color sanding and buffing.

Look at that baby shine!!

That's a big relief, huh, MoC? Great job!

The bright side of this whole thing is...you now know how to buff out a not-so-perfect paint job. Not a bad thing to know how to do...

It is worth it to have AMC blue, silver, and black all in one place at the same time!! That is freakin' awesome.

One of you guys should make a thread of JUST AMC BLUE ENGINES....

Paint is really sweet MoCarooni. You do good work, as usual.

MoC,

Happy to hear National Carb took care of you. They really are exceptional.

Your engine is a beauty, my friend. If you're like me, the spaghetti-like mess of wires and hoses is going to drive you nuts until you get it tidied up.

Keep after it....you are sooooo close.

Matt
