You are correct, from what I can tell its a TF727. The seller told me 2nd and 3rd are out in it. It did more in 1st and reverse on and off the trailor. There is a date and name on the inside of the bellhouse that says 1999. The seller said it was rebuilt so I am guessing that is when. If you want it you can have it as long as you can get it out before Saturday.

Thanks for the offer, MoC. I'm going to mull it over. If it were a 999 I'd be all over it even if it needed a rebuild, but I just don't know if the 727 would work in my '5. I'll get back to you on it if I change my mind, though.

Motor looking really good! That golden eagle paint and decal would be really sweet but man those Renegades look really good too! I saw a clean silver with the orange and red renegade lettering completely restored in Lafayette and it made me wish I would have done a restore instead of all my useless mods lol

Moc you're engine is looking nice. I'll be glad when you get it installed so we can see how it does in the CJ. I bet you're glad you made the drive to Oklahoma now aren't you.

Hey I vote you keep the original color on your CJ.

I've got a 400 out of a 77 waggy if you want it.

Well got 2 coats of aluminum on the intake today. Still waiting on my AMC Blue to come in. I just shipped today so will not get it on this weekend.

Ordered my EGR delete, all grade 8 engine bolts from TotallyStainless, and my engine gaskets.

Big thanks to Chase for the EGR delete link and to Keith for recommending TotallyStainless to me.

and there was much rejoising...

Had a listing in the parts section here and over at ifsja for the remains of the waggy @ $200, which was around my scrap price. Well saturaday morning was the zero hour when I loaded it up for the scrap yard. Got a PM from a guy who lives here in town who wants to pick it up for $200 tomorrow. He is going to use it as a parts truck for a waggy he is rebuilding.

Makes me feel good. I know I could make more scraping it but at least now the usable parts will not go to waste.

It's great for those parts to get a second chance. Very cool! Glad it worked out.

Not yet. The 258 is still in my CJ and other tham my little brake issue that I have yet to address, it still runs good. I am planning on getting the 360 100% ready to be dropped in before I pull the 258. Still have to bring parts to powder coat and rebuilt the carb. Carb is getting powder coated as well. Also still need to order a few parts... v8 throttle cable, headers, engine mounts. To keep the wifey happy I am not going to order the remaining parts until after my AMC Blue, engine gaskets, egr delete, and stainless engine bolts all come in. That is already 4 boxes on the way hear, I think if any more show up around the same time she might start looking at what I have spent.

I have shipped a few things to LSUtigers house before when I was doing my driveline, but that made me feel bad when I was bring boxes home trying to hide them..
