All geared up and ready to head out on my adventure tomorrow am. Trailer is hooked up, tools packed, compression gauge ready.

My almost 5 year old daughter is coming with me for the ride. Leaving a 6am and driving 6.5 hours to a town east of Tulsa. Picking up the waggy there and heading 2.5 hours west to OK City. Going to spend the night there with my mom. She is deployed there for the next few months and will not get to come down for my daughters birthday so I though while I was in that neck of the woods might as well stop by so we can spend some time together. Waking up Sunday and making the 6 hour drive south back to Shreveport.

Very Excited and hoping that the engine is everything is was advertised as. Getting the whole waggy for $45 more is a big plus as well.

Will post up some pictures tomorrow night from the hotel. Everyone please keep you fingers crossed for me that this is all going to work out!

So checking in from Oklahoma City.

Day started out a little rough. Left around 630 and at 700 my cell phone died. Not battery died but died died. Had to turn around and go get my other phone.

Spend around 7 hours getting to waggy. In the 05 f150 I got 9 miles per gallon pulling the 20 foot trailer empty. You could see the gas gauge dropping just by watching it. The trailer has a large back gate that was like a big parachute. Got 9 miles to the gallon with the waggy on the trailer as well.

By the time I got there was already ready to be home so I did not check it out as good as I originally planned. Saw what was left of the build sheet. All I could really make out was when, where, that the rods were replaced. Apparently the fuel pump is bad, they did not tell me that till I got there, and we had to run it by dropping fuel in through the carb in to the bowl. Ran here for about 10 minutes and all looked great. Smooth and as quite as can be. Good oil pressure and all the fluids looked good. Think I am going to be very happy with it. I does move under its own power in 1st and reverse. Looks like tranny is bad.

Loaded here up, drove 2.5 hours to Oklahoma City to visit with my mom. Went swimming and ate some dinner and here we are.

Engine looks good, paint is nice under the dust. Once I pull it going to paint here up so guess it does not matter all that much.

Looking forward to getting her home, replacing the fuel pump (has a electric one on it now), and checking her out.

Good score, MoC! If you've ever been on the IFSJA.com website, I think you'll find that a lot of those guys would be drooling over that deal! You may have a small fortune in sellable parts. Have a safe return trip.

Engine is as dry as can be. The area next to the carb is from pouring gas in. Planning on pulling and painting most everything but the heads, intake, and timing chain cover. Came with extra 2 barrel intake that was in the back.

Glad it looks like it worked out for you man! Keep that under hood light for someone doing a resto! Oooooh, and you have cruise control too. Now get home and kill that waggy.

I was eyeing that under hood light Paul to stick in the CJ, mine is long gone. It still has the stock manifolds on them. Anyone know if the waggy stock manifolds will fit in the CJ? If so was considering using them over headers.

They should. It would be like a factory CJ with a 304. Basically, the same block.

Well got her home unloaded and in the driveway. Planning on next weekend spending some time removing the rotten vac & fuel lines and tuning on her to see what I really have. Just want to be 100% sure I am golden before I yank her out, paint her up, and drop her in.

Another problem I am thinking about is that I am planning on painting the engine bay when doing this. I have yet to decide what my final exterior color is going to be so I guess I need to start thinking about that. I want to paint the engine bay to match.
