Hey MoC, what booster / mc do you have there? Is that a Vanco?

Offagain4x4 Navajo brakes. Love them! My jeep with 36's stops better than my 2005 f-150. Swapped right in with no other changes. Only regred is I did not paint it before installing. Planning on doing that soon.

Looks great! Not sure if you realized that there is a seal inside this channel... looks like you painted over it. I dug the old one out. You can get this foam rope in the insulation section of Home Depot or Lowes. Fits in that channel perfectly.

Thanks Paul! I knew there was something there but did not know it would be that easy to replace.

MoC- please forgive my ignorance... why did you not just get a 6" aftermarket filter? I started doing the same thing you're doing, and said "Hang it...." and spent the $9.

I wanted something that was enclosed so that mud and water could not splash directly in to the filter. The stock V8 filter will not fit on the 2100 because the break booster.

Well finished up and installed my air cleaner today. Fits nice and I am happy with how it turned out.

Paul, thanks for the tip on the foam backer rod from Lowes, it was perfect!

Great job on the filter housing MoC. I actually like that type filter better than the performance filters sold. As you stated water and mud are going to get on the engine but it won;t be getting on your filter. Very good choice on how to fix a potential problem.
