Its in the front drivers side for sure. Feels to me like it might be a wheel bearing but we shall see. It kicks in when I am driving at a constent speed at around 35 or above. It starts to vibrate bad like death wobble. I can look out and see the drivers front wobbling. If I mash the gas and speed up quickly it smooths out.
Check for out of round tires. Raise up the front end, and spin the tires checking for roundness.

My daughter's car had a terrible steering wheel shake at around 40-50. I took it to a trusted shop, and he aligned it, turned the rotors, balanced the tires, and told me my tires were out of round. So off to the tire store I went. The tire store re-balanced them, and told me the tires were not bad, but the first shop had balanced them wrong. (they were pirelli tires and only about 6 months old, and less than 3000 miles on them) Still had the shake.

Totally frustrated, I took matters into my own hands. I jacked up the car, and put it in gear (front wheel drive). Both front tires were visibly out of round by a lot. The rear tires were also, but not as bad. Went back to the store with my new found knowledge, and they warranteed the tires.

Moral: If you have a shimmy or shake you can't track down, look for out of round tires.

He speaks the truth! I have the same issue with my CJ right now. I can no longer drive it on the freeway because the tires are getting worse, but I can't find a good used set and I can't afford a new set, so it's surface streets for me

When I had 35/12.50/15's in stalled on the turbin rims I bought a number of years ago. The SAM's guy said one of them wouldn't balance . I told him to break the bead and rotate the tire on the rim 180°, ( research paid off here) guess what, 3 oz. and it was balanced.

If I were on a tight budget I would google "air soft pellets in tires" you may find a formula for the correct amount. These work, I personally know 4 people who use them. I have them in bias ply interco LTB's 33/13.50's . They work.

Going to look at it Sunday. Shouldn't be to hard to track down since it never did it before and I didn't change anything.

I've heard of the air soft pellets. Won't cure my issue, it's legit out of round on a 9 yr old tire.

dynabeads. For balancing. Hot Rodders/restorers... have been using them for years on their "period correct" non radial tires

4x4s for firewood? I guess that's OK since this is Jeepforum! I have used scrap lumber in the fireplace more than once.

I was mulling over life and turning 41 on Thursday coming up. We had some friends over for BBQ and beer. By that time everyone had left and the wifey had already gone to bed.

I'll look in to them. Its not going to be a balance issue unless I threw a weight since they ran fine for years.

Good eye!

I ran out of real wood and I have a big stack of cut 4x4's that I use as cribbing for under jack stands. Who would have ever though that on a May night in Louisiana we would be in the 40's and burning a fire??

Picked up this guy yesterday. Not old just vintage 1991,

All guts are intact but I think the ballast must be bad. Played with it for a few minutes. When I get a little time I will replace ballast and wire her up.

It does not count, it is upside down.

What a fricking day...

My wife and mother in law got in a wreck today. They were on a 4 lane no divider 50mph overpass when a lady traveling the opposite direction drifted out here lane and hit them. I assume she was texting or on the phone. She did not even hit her brakes. A few more feet and it would have been a 50 mph head on... Her tire hit my wifes car in between the doors and took the rear tire off. Sent them across two lanes of on coming traffic. From the impact to where the stopped was 50+ feet. The marks on the ground are from my wifes car. Air bags deployed. They ended up on the other side of the road facing the opposite way they were traveling. The lady who hit them admitted guilt and its on the police report.

Spend 8 hours in the ER and we are back home now... Feel like I could have become a single dad today...

Going to take a few days off the computer and spend every moment I can with her and the kids this weekend. My sons birthday party is tomorrow.

Man, brother.... Scary stuff. I thank GOD they're ok. I'll pray that this is a special weekend for you guys. Enjoy it.

My girls were traveling out of town & back today. Never know what other drivers are going to do. Looks like the Honda handled the wreck well. Your wife must have as well. With them going across all those lanes of traffic I'd say you're more than blessed.

Lifting you up Brother. I, too, have experienced that sensation.

Happy Birthday to the boy...
