Thanks for looking out! Knoxville is around 11 hours so its a little tooooooo far. Its a good price for what it is and would be tempting if it were closer.



Just got back from my everyone is sleeping so I went on a jeep ride ride. Pretty night.

Exhaust re routed. I ending up going straight out the back with turn downs. I gave up on the side exit because I didn't want to have to do it again if I stick a rear bumper on. I still have to pull the old hangers off the frame. Went back with hangers bolted through the baffles.

Also had the alignment checked. Toe was out to open.

Drive around and no fumes in through the back. I also developed a bad front end wobble early this week. Fixing the toe actually made it worst. Guess I will dig in to that soon enough...

Are the ball joints tight? It looks like you're running some pretty big rubber....

I have not had time to track it down yet. I spend this afternoon and spending tomorrow doing housework and shop clean up. My sons birthday is coming up in a few weekends and I have been told to get the shop area back under control.

Its in the front drivers side for sure. Feels to me like it might be a wheel bearing but we shall see. It kicks in when I am driving at a constent speed at around 35 or above. It starts to vibrate bad like death wobble. I can look out and see the drivers front wobbling. If I mash the gas and speed up quickly it smooths out.

I like the new exhaust set up. I did not like the hanger welded to the frame.

Do you have a stabilizing shock on the tie rod?

Check for out of round tires. Raise up the front end, and spin the tires checking for roundness.

My daughter's car had a terrible steering wheel shake at around 40-50. I took it to a trusted shop, and he aligned it, turned the rotors, balanced the tires, and told me my tires were out of round. So off to the tire store I went. The tire store re-balanced them, and told me the tires were not bad, but the first shop had balanced them wrong. (they were pirelli tires and only about 6 months old, and less than 3000 miles on them) Still had the shake.

Totally frustrated, I took matters into my own hands. I jacked up the car, and put it in gear (front wheel drive). Both front tires were visibly out of round by a lot. The rear tires were also, but not as bad. Went back to the store with my new found knowledge, and they warranteed the tires.

Moral: If you have a shimmy or shake you can't track down, look for out of round tires.

He speaks the truth! I have the same issue with my CJ right now. I can no longer drive it on the freeway because the tires are getting worse, but I can't find a good used set and I can't afford a new set, so it's surface streets for me

When I had 35/12.50/15's in stalled on the turbin rims I bought a number of years ago. The SAM's guy said one of them wouldn't balance . I told him to break the bead and rotate the tire on the rim 180°, ( research paid off here) guess what, 3 oz. and it was balanced.

If I were on a tight budget I would google "air soft pellets in tires" you may find a formula for the correct amount. These work, I personally know 4 people who use them. I have them in bias ply interco LTB's 33/13.50's . They work.
