I think I have a little air leak developing, at the end of our ride yesterday I started to get a little hesitation / bogging down. Other than that all is super. It's time to re torque everything so I am anticipating the problem to go away after that.

Spend a hour and 1/2 this afternoon breaking down a d30 for parts.

The fruits of my labor, scraping the housing and rest.

You're on the wrong side MoC, Watchout!!!

Hey MoC I'm going nuts trying to decipher my engine tag code. Looking everywhere (well obviosuly not EVERYWHERE). 212N11 is on the tag. Do you have a decoder table?

Looking good to getting regulatory approval to put the 360 into the 7. I just reckon it was rebuilt sometime not long before I bought the FSJ it came out of, real tight motor. woohoo!

Gunna go back thru your's and Matt's threads to catch up on the engine mounts required. Nearly pushed the button on what Advance offers but I don't want to weld on my frame.

Gary,

According to this de-code information, your engine was born on December 11, 1978, and it was originally a 360 2-bbl.

You will need Jeep CJ 304 mounts. I believe the driver's side mount on a 258 is the same, but the passenger side is different on the V8. MORE makes a nice set, but they are pricey.

Matt is correct, all that's needed is to swap the passenger side frame mount for the 304 mount. Also, a frame mount from a FSJ will NOT work. The motor/engine mounts will be the same as any 304,360, and 401, IIRC.

Where in Arkansas are you? I ended up in Ozark today.

Heres my bounty. Everything on the floor was picked up as well as the axles. I have yet to dig through it all, but it looks like a bunch of good stuff.

Looks like a good haul you got there buddy. But where is my straight, rust-free tailgate?????

EDIT: I did not look close enough.... there is a tailgate in that pile. Let's chat.

I showed those pics to my wife to let her know that the various CJ parts I have sitting on the workbench in the garage aren't so bad after all!
