Well the jeep welcomed me home in jeep fashion. Ran it in the driveway for 10 min and apparently sitting for 2 weeks without running now causes a little high pressure coolant leak. Looks to be just the lower rad hose, but really didn't check it out once I noticed it.

Postal Santa came today with a recent eBay purchase. Another addition to the "library." 1983 Product Information and Data Book. Around 90 pages, but the section about Cherokees is missing 14 pages.. GRRR Contacting the seller. Going to keep it, just looking for a little $ back. Either way my collection of useless knowledge is growing.

USPS Santa dropped this off today. I'll never (hopefully) rebuilt a Varajet for a 4 banger, but thought it was cool to add to the library.

1980 AMC Varajet 2SE and E2SE bench rebuilt guide.

Wow, I have spent the last few hours reading through this thread, what an adventure! I have been lurking here for a good while now and have been reading all the build threads trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. Boy have I hit the jackpot. It looks like there are a bunch of great guys here with a ton of knowledge. You have done an amazing job on your jeep, it was a great read, although I was sorry to read about your dad, hope things get better for him and your family.

Not much going on here. I broke down and put the top on a few weeks back.



Here in North Louisiana we are getting down to 17 tonight and 10 tomorrow night. I my 42 years living in Louisiana and 11 in North Louisiana I cant remember it ever getting that cold. Kind of excited to go drive my jeep when its 10.

Going to get started on the red renegade in a week or so. Did some home office deep cleaning today and came across some old pictured of past jeeps. Think I might have posted one of these before but twice is just as nice.

This is my first vehicle ever. Bought it in 1990 when I was 18. It was a 1978 CJ7. Originally a Levi jeep with blue interior and blue paint. Was repainted on the exterior before I got it. Used it as my daily driver till I was 26ish.
This is the day I got it.



Here it is after I did my thing to it.





This next one is a 1984 I got in the beginning of the summer of 1994. It was my first adventure in trying to flip a jeep. Fixed the broken stuff and painted it. Drove it for a few months before selling it.



The pimp bumper was on it when I got it. Remember when those were cool?

I don't ever remember liking those or any tube bumper. I do however, really like that steel blue on that last one.

They were pretty cool in the early 90's where I grew up. I liked the ones on my black jeep for the time but never cared for the one on the blue jeep. I saw more than one of them fold down when people yanked in them. Here's a few more from the early / mid 90's. This is a 76 I had. The tires on it went to the black 78 above.

This is the group of guys I grew up with. Being from New Orleans the closest we had was the Bonnet Carrie Spill Way to ride in. Nothing but mud and more mud.
