Looks like you got a good stash there. Must have been a good deal for you to make that trip. Quite a haul from LA.
It was a bit of a haul.. I am lucky enough to be able to schedule myself whenever I want so just took the day off and hit the road on the next adventure. The guy I bought it all from was really nice. I ended up staying and talking jeeps with him for 2 hours. He restored / flipped 40 jeeps over the years and that was his stash he had left over. He gave me a more than fair price on it all. The best part was it all fit in the truck so I only burnt around $100 in gas since I didn't have to pull the trailer.

Tracked down why I started running rough last weekend....

Apparently my ACE mechanic didn't tighten down the dizzy clamp after setting the timing...

He's fired!!

Put some real miles on her for the first time today. Kiddos and wifey took naps so I made a cruising run south and put 88 miles on the books round trip. Mostly 55mph-60mph back road highways. Ran great. Oil pressure is the only thing that I am not super happy with. At the half way point I stopped to check things out and let it sit and idle for 5 min. She holds around 10 psi at idle.

I also have confirmed that I have just one engine leak. It is coming from a bolt on the bottom of the oil pump. Around town it barley leaks. Does not drip on the ground at all. This is what I got after the 88 mile at speed run.

The plan is to change the oil sometime at the end of the month and attack it then. and yes Matt... I will have a leak free jeep or grow older trying!

Also developed a little exhaust leak. Tracked it down pretty quick.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Happy jeeping!

MoC,

You're just working out the kinks, brother. I finally got mine bone dry, for the moment.

Sounds like you and I had a similar day. I put a little over 100 miles on mine, testing out my new clutch, and visiting a buddy. The clutch was perfect.

Unfortunately, about 30 miles into my trip, my brand new starter broke. I had a few stops to make, so I had to park on hills, so I could roll start the beast.

Gotta love rollin' in a CJ.....

Matt

Hey, MoC...

You could always do what I did, in my futile attempt NOT to have any leaks...

Your link just goes to the not logged in page. Or, are saying to join IFSJA?

When I click on it, a thread that I wrote comes up. I don't know why it doesn't come up on your computer.

Actually, I think that I figured it out. I'm logged on to that website, so the thread appears on my computer.

This thread made news (not all too flattering, I might add) on other threads all over the world.

Just Google Jeep Tampon, and you'll see all the places it ended up on...

I don't know how to make it so it appears on this forum...

Anyway, it suits MoC's problem to a tee.

I was thinking the tampon is what this was going to be. I've read about it in a couple different places.

Edit, some good reading, way to go, your Famous. :-)
