You must have an old army cot, or a few blankets in your shop, don't you?

Ohhh, that's right, you probably don't have THAT key on there, either......

Yeah, right....that would go over like a fart in church in my household.

My problem with tapping on the window is my wife has a loaded weapon in her nightstand, and she knows how to use it.

I've slept in my CJ before....

Loaded 9 by her side of the bed 45 by mine. I though about getting shot as well which is why I said baby several times while knocking. Jenn is somewhat trained and knows not to shoot till they enter the house. Also taught her dead men cant tell their side of the story so as long as they are inside.. Today was just one of those days. No inspections and was planning on working on the Jeep for at least 5 hours. I got lots of windshield time in tracking down parts but no wrenching.

I decided that since I was going through my wiring harnesses I might as well wire relays in to my headlights. After getting let in last night I spent some time reading up on hammers relay post and making a list.

Made stops at 3 different parts stores to get most of what I needed. Then to the junk yard to source some sealed relays with their mounting brackets and bases. Again following hammers advice I went straight to the Cadillac's. Decided since I was there might as well stock up. Paid $46 for this stash

Cadillac's are definitely the place to look. I also checked out 20 or so others and everything else I found had the relays inside the fuse boxes.

They are all Bosch relays. Decided that I am going to go with one of the 3 relay sets because they are sealed up completely vs the 4 relay sets. I am going to use 2 relays for the lights and it gives me room to expand. If I need more I can just slap another set in.

Here is what the others look like.

I have not decided on my finial install location but this is likely going to be it.

I also bought a 6 fuse block. Three will be for the headlight leaving me room for 3 additional circuits. One is going to be for my radio to clean that wiring up a little, again leaving me a little room to expand.

I wanted to install it below the the existing fuse block, but because of where the vin is located I will have to go lower.

Kind of worried that I will be kicking it with my foot. My 2nd choice is on the engine side of the firewall here.

Although its is not water proof I will not be getting water that high on my firewall. The humidity was another thought, but I cant imagine that it would be any less humid inside the jeep.

Any thoughts or comments on my placement ideas?

The final score of the day... As I was walking around I found my next project.

Family Bar for $100!!! I have been looking for about 6 months now and have not found anything close. Someone tried to remove it and stripped out most of the torx. I talked to the scrap yard guy and I can bring my generator in and cut it out. He said I can cut up the tub if needed. Kind of a shame since the tub is almost perfect, but it did come with square lights so who really cares. The jeep has been in the yard since july. This comes at a perfect time. The next project after all of this is tub body work, family bar install, paint the tub.

So all that lead to me then going home to fix the generator. The pull cord broke last time I used it. Hoping to go back for it in a few days.

Also got some Lowes time in. Made what I think is my last trip for misc bolts.

The only thing left I need to track down is something to use as a dedicated ground bus.

I thought about it. I am running OffAgain Auto's Navjo brake so dont need it myself. A asked about prices on a few other things like it, grill, tailgate and they were looking for too much $ for it to make it worth while to pull.

I tried a YJ setup. Pedal height was way off and I slapped another non pb setup on the Jeep while I lengthened the pushrod and ended up staying non-pb. I would only get it if you can resell for profit.

Hey bassfsr, who makes those seats in your Jeep? They are very close to looking like original design.

Nice looking CJ by the way!

The guy I bought the Jeep from is an upholster. He did the seats just before I bought it. When I did the frame off, I just kept the seats as they were. They are out of a Chevy S-10 Blazer I believe.

Nice looking 7!

Have not gotten much done recently. Got my relays mostly wired in but have been sick these last few days.

Made a junkyard run this morning and came back with everything I wanted.

- YJ family bar
- 3 ground bars
- 3 of the retractable lights
- 2 other lights that I just snagged that look like the factory cj ones

My generator fought me and I have to get all MacGyver in it. First the stupid pull cord spooler shattered. Took it apart and was able to spool the cord around a part and pull still. Then with only 2 roll bar bolts to cut it started stuttering and quit running. After a little looking found a fuel line that was cracked and sucking air. Pulled a line from a junk car and patched it back.
