Mitsubishi willys jeep

I live in the UK and have just bought my first Jeep.
It is a mitsubishi willys style jeep. I was told it was a J59. It is 1990cc petrol, manual. I wondered if there was anyone out there who had any info on these vehicles?

I see at least 10 of those a day here in Okinawa. I'll see if one of the locals that works in my office (and speaks pretty decent English) can get me some info on them. Pretty sure I read a while back that Willy's licensed the tech specs and plans to Mitsubishi back in the mid 50's so that they could produce it for use in Asia.
