Ill throw out a little of what I can tell you.
The aftermarket side mirrors that like like the OEM ones use a thinner tube arm and thinner mounting brackets. These move and shake all over. Also avoid the ones that use the skimmpy brackets that only bolt with two bolts in the torx holes. Even if you replace just the head, re-use the OEM arms and brackets IF you can.
In theory the YJ/early TJ mirrors seem nice and I ran them on my Scrambler for years. The problem is ALL the re location brackets Ive seen are symmetric and don't allow for the raised passenger position as the OEM used (viewed through the front windshield). So you really can't use the passenger mirror once relocated. Also the ball sockets are either locked solid from corrosion, or can't be tightened and will flop down once up the speed due to the wind.....for me, any thing over 65/70 and they folding right in..
