My mother made us one for the Jeep, she found some heavy mesh at Walmart one day and used that. Works great! I have been putting it on every chance I get in the last 2 summers, can't wait to sport it some more this year!

I've tried to attach a pic from my phone, keeps crashing. I'll try again later from the laptop.

I have the traditional bikini but I am going to get a mesh also. With the solid I have driven to work in a down pour and at freeway speeds didn't get a drop on me.

Personally, I would go with both. These vehicles are still around because of their versatility. It's like a transformer. I have the hard top, soft top, soft half doors, hard half doors, and traditional bikini. I am still looking to get the full hard doors and the mesh bikini and I will have collected them all.

I know this is personal preference also but I like the look of the straps with the footman loop. It screams CJ to me.

I'd hate to see a hard top hacked up like that, they are rare enough as it is...

Beleive me the rest of that top was trash. There is a guy near me who has a jeep resto shop and this had no windows or hatch and all the "legs" were fractured. He gave it to me free instead of throwing it in the dumpster. Even whats left of it has sone bondo and glue. And to be honest they are not that rare around here maybe 3 on craigslist within an hour of me at this moment.

JeePete in box 29 has one thing right, you cannot get the darn things to stay tight, EVER.
I took another strap just like the bikini strap material from the windshield center loop to the center bow at a 45 degree angle that stretches over my head and the passenger side to block the continous pat on my head as I am driving; I do not have a roll bar, my 66 is too old; I do have a center bow with another footman loop welded onto the bow to connect the extra straps to.
