maxima to amc 20 disc brake conversion brackets blue print needed?

ok im in the middle of converting my rear brakes to disc brakes. im using the 96 maxima brakes. i started to make brackets out of 1/2 steel and i cant seem to get them right, so im going to have a shop with a laser cutter cut them for me out of 3/8. dose any one have a blue print for the maxima brackets? i have the 300zx blue prints but there a little different and i just need to bolt them on as i dd my jeep. or dose any one know what the difference is in the two brakes? can i swap out the caliper brackets and use the same caliper? or are they two different?
thanks in advance

What Rotors are you going to use? I'm really thinking of doing this convertion since my rear Drums are shot. New drums a close to the same price as this mod.

Might want to wait to drill the two caliper mounting bracket holes until you mock them up. I ended up moving the holes to better center the pads on the rotor. I also used the tracker front rotors. The bracke mounting holes are dead on. jc

What size paper did you print the sketch out on?

Standard 8.5 X 11. I will say that I scanned that picture into my computer after I used it. The original was a cad drawing which I down loaded from this sight. Then I had an engineer friend print it to scale. I tried to print it and had the same results as you guys. Sorry I don't know how to make it print the correct size though my picture looks correct. jc

Is this the one you used? When I print it out and take some measurements they seem to match the measurements on the picture.

I just cut 2 pair of those brackets on the plasma table last night... for a buddy.

I've got the DXF files if anyone needs them. I can also do those brackets for anyone who needs them.. figure $20 per set and $5 shipping in a Flat Rate Box.. cut from 3/8". PM if interested..:cheers2:

I'll take a pair. Can you not drill the caliper mounting holes? That way i can make sure its a perfect fit.

Never heard of this upgrade, now I want to do it.. Do the brackets bolt or weld on?

Do you need to add anything like a different proportioning valve/MC for four wheel discs or is it just a simple bolt on?

waterdowg 05-03-2011 06:23 PM

I never heard of it before. But now I want to do it. Its a out the same cost as new drums and pads. Since I have to do those soon I will do this. It looks like a bolt in, no welding and you can use the same MC and proprotioning valve.
