Manual Tran Lever Question

I have a 1975 CJ5 with a snapped lever and I was wondering if anyone knew whether it would be easier to replace the lever with one from a junkyard or to just manufacture some sort of knob on top of it.

Cut it off square and re-thread it.

thanks for the advice guys, I was able to cut it off square and rethread it without having to go to a machine shop although it took the better part of my day, ended up strengthening it with some epoxy as well and then repainting it black and now it looks beautiful!
I tried to post pictures but jeepforum gave me a pretty poor amount of space in the gallery with 100kb, can barely post a single picture

Best way to post pictures is to open an account at photobucket.com, download your pics, copy and paste the .img file into your post.

Just remember to get your picture size down to about 150 kb, otherwise the pics are huge.

Hope this helps...........
