only one side has the problem. there is still play in the axle shaft. gonna take the spindles off and pull the shafts and replace the bearings in there. heres some pictures.







seems like theres more problems think im gonna remove the spindle and remove the shafts and inspect in there. mineaswell when i have everything out, hubs and bearings seem fine suprisinly

Try to rotate the spud shafts to check the U joints. Don't pull the shafts if you don't have to. That will keep you from running the risk of getting crud in the inner axle seals, causing them to leak.

there is some play in the shafts, otherwise they would bind up in turns
Regreasing those hubs would't hurt and now would be the time to replace the seals and regrease the bearings

only thing that has me concerened is my detroit locker hasnt been working that well if any at all, im thinking that somehow the splines are stripped?

just pull the shafts (or the complete hub assembly) to check on that. Twisted splines will still engage the locker.
Just open up all the crap to see what's going on

the new bearings fixed everything, will find out about the axle some other time.
