Removing brake drums but not hubs?

Actually I did loose my memory... and the installation procedure for the mileage marker 481' I installed on my 69 CJ5. Now I have lost the brakes on all but one corner and need to repair/replace the wheel cylinders. I can,t remember if the hubs must come off before the drum can be removed or if the drum can be removed without removing the hubs. See, I did forget. Can anyone help an old guy? Thanks
