at a loss

Ok I bought the hood lock kit for the ol CJ and I cant for the life of me figure how it installs. The directions are no good. looked on line cant find anything different. Has anyone installed one? if so can u explain it? or Pics dont know if i'm missing some originL equip that may not be on mine or not. there is no placce on the grill top that the latch can go through. is there supposed to be some thing on the hood that slides into the grill that the latch secures to? any help please thanks JON

I have one, it's probably 10 years old or so. Post a picture.
I will be pulling the radiator this morning, the PO put it on so I'll check in a bit, as to how its installed.

If its like this one it looks like the factory hood latch needs taken off. The radiator being removed for access would help a lot.

The 2 bolts towards the front hold the lock on, the lock goes between the grill and factory latch. Have fun.

If it's the cable style with the lock under the dash, mine is still sitting in a drawer also.
