Mean Max:
Value is what someone is willing to pay for it. Four years ago I picked up a 1980 Larado CJ-7 from Texas that sat in a barn for about 21 years.
Here are a few original pictures when I got it home I just washed it and nothing else.
Only has 64,500 her . I was trying to sell her for $3.000 and nobody wanted it so I got her running replaced all brake and gas related items added about $4,000 more worth of parts and asked $7,500 still no takers. She now sits in the corner of my garage and will probably stay there . I have decided to keep her and just added her to my herd ( wife's not happy ) but I will not give her away for nothing SCREW THAT!!! Here is my build thread.

I can't believe you couldn't sell that clean '7 for either of those prices.

Every other thread on this forum seems to mention how expensive CJ's are in Texas!

.

1981 CJ-7: Fresh 304, NV4500, Twin Stick Dana 300, Dual Tops, 33" Mud Terrains, etc.

SKT , I don,t want to hijack Mean Maxs post, but I too was surprised. I retired from a big company UTC and I had a friend post it at work for $3,000 and no takers So Mean Max just remember money is really
Tight these days, people are are having a hard time just trying to makes ends meet.He should Keep it and do whatever he would enjoy doing with it and make himself happy.
Everybody will love let and put a real high value on it until you try to actually sell it, then he
will find out about that old saying is true
( bull**** walks but money talks )
Enjoy it .

Well, here is a link to more pics of the little CJ-5 that I call "Colonel Mustard" if anyone wants to see it.

It is for sale, and the owner is open to offers.
