Looking for opinions on camo wrapped Jeep (pics)
I'm considering using camo wraps to "paint" my '76 CJ7. I have a glass tub, hood and fenders. I would like to replace everything with new glass, but don't want to spend the cash to do it at this time. And I don't want to spend the cash it would take to have it prepped and painted if I'm going to eventually replace it anyway.
So, I found a place in Texas that I can buy the CJ kit for less than $400 and do it myself or have them intall for $25/hour. From the $$ perspective it seems like a no brainer. Opinions? Comments? Here are some pics that are very close to what I would like to do: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Honestly I would consider a wrap but I would never consider doing it myself I have seen it done it is hard to get right. basically 25/hr even if it takes an 8hr day thats 200 plus the 400 thats 600 you couldn't get a decent paint job for that except for maybe maaco. I don't know if all are the same but the local maaco here is poor quality at best

Looks good.
That looks just like my cousins Jeep, it could be his I guess. Fill us in on the folks that sell it for $400 if you want to.

The Camo Wrap dealer I'm buying from is: Clark Customs Paint & Body, Ore City, TX Ph: (903) 968-6564 They don't have a website, but you can go to camowraps.com and look at the available patterns and look for a dealer/installer near you. The Jeep kit normally sales for $450. It was on sale at Clark's until 12/31/07 (I think). I'm getting it at the sale price of $380 something since I inquired about it during the sale. I'm driving up there tomorrow to see the camo wrap in the flesh. I'll check and see if they will do a group deal if anybody is interested. |

I saw a CJ for sale which had it done (with a different camo background). It looked decent. The owner did it himself and said that it was not hard at all. Basically like putting on tint (which does take a touch of experience to do a good job). Smooth out all the air bubble type of type of thing. Then have it clear coated.
