Nick, are you sure this wasn't a scam? Did you have a trustworthy source lay eyes on the Jeep prior to sending the money? I've seen these slime ball scammers use the deployed Military line far too often. They always refer to shipping the vehicle from a Military base as well.

Certainly hope it isn't for your case, but most of the time they use pics of super clean vehicles and/or the price is too good to be true. Having deployed to the Middle East 5 times myownself, I have never given away my toys prior to leaving for cheap, nor have any of my buddies. If you didn't have a trust worthy person lay eyes on the actually CJ, how was the grammar in the email traffic? Did they refer to it as an 'item' and/or pressure you to quickly send a money order to Nigeria?

This still screams scam. Can you post up a link to the original posting? I'll second what LG says about driving like a granny with the 360/T5. If you can, I'd double check and make damn certain you still have control of your funds, and that you can withdraw from the sale. The "5-day trial/evaluation/inspection" period is a pretty common scam line...
Also, where was this ad posted, as in what state are you in? Was it posted on your local CL board, but the vehicle was located out of state? If so, you seriously need to pull all stops and get your money back! What if you get the vehicle (not going to happen, as it won't be shipped to you), and you change your mind and want to send it back? Have you thought of all the steps involved in "returning" a vehicle? On the CL ad, did you respond to a direct email listed in the ad content itself, or did you go through the CL mail router at the top? Again, you need to run the F away from this...

Mgoers, there isn't enough info in the add for a price estimate. I do notice the lack of heater/defrost controls in the dash.

Nicks diner , your jeep doesn't appear to be that orignal, no CJ came with a 360/aluminum intake/ 4bbl. The rims are not OEM, it's missing the leather wrapped steering wheel and grab bar. I believe there should also be a factory clock and tachometer. The frame cover in the front I don't believe was chrome.

This may just be a standard CJ with stickers and a chrome grill overlay.

Fake Amazon Sites
While surfing the net I’ve come across a number of fake websites that pretend to be Amazon Payments sites. It appears that these sites are being used as part of a scam using CraigsList to advertise non-existent vehicles for sale.
Here are the sites I’ve found so far:

2. http://amazon-payments-email.net/
3. http://online-transactions-amazon.com
4. http://transactions-online-amazon.com
5. http://www.amazon-payments-email.com

If you’re directed to any of those sites then you are being scammed.

Ok, to the OP, we totally threadjacked! Sorry! It's a nice CJ7, but not $11.5K nice. Nick, how much did you get scammed for? How much money are you out? Too bad there's no magical Morning After pill for getting scammed...

The search for a CJ7, or the search to find a way of getting your money back?
