Locking hub stuck in lock

Ok guys... I'm stuck. I've been trying to figure out how to get my passenger side locking hub to fully unlock to the free position, but it only goes 3/4 of the way.

I've taken the cap off of the hub so I could remove the snap rings, pull it, inspect it, clean it, reinstall it and unlock it. Only thing is, I can't see the snap rings. Though I can't see the outer larger ring, it may be in there and fishing with a pick might get it out. However, I do not see the inner one at all.

Does anyone have a picture to show me what it should look like? Is it possible that it is just missing?

The 4wd seemed to be engaging and disengaging just fine. I know I can leave the hubs locked, but I want them working properly.

I've searched and searched for help on this. Can't find what I need. Any ideas guys?

It's for an 84, but should give you an idea.

Go here and download section Gb, last 3 pages are the hubs.

Currently in pieces - all of them
