Got a mid 80s Warn 8274 from a guy needing cash for 150.00. Found out Warn wanted around 150.00 for a mounting plate. Placed a wtb add on craigs list and got the older heavy duty one from a guy that just didn't want to dump it and had set it in his garage the same day I placed the add. Free, he would not even take a 6 pack for it and he was only about 10 blocks from my house.
Found a rebuilt, good running 258 82 complete, from the clutch fan to the bellhousing, carb to pan. Clifford valve cover and all for free. He had a new 350 crate motor siting there to drop in and got transferred out of state and was not taking the 258 with him. Just need it gone. He ever had a crane and loaded it into my pickup.
Got a 82 CJ power booster with bracket for my CJ for 20 bucks, and he said here I have a YJ dual diaphragm with master but no bracket just take them both for 20 bucks.
I got a TJ hardtop for $350. A week later I found a set of TJ full doors for $300. Tube fenders and rocker guards for $275. 5.3l engine w/ all accessories $500. NV4500 w/d300 $400. TJ hood, windshield frame w/ windshield and visors, and front grill (mine were all banged up) for $100. My best deal has been on ebay though. Dana 60 rear narrowed to 65" with TJ brackets welded on, 4.88 gears and ARB air locker for $400. It was an hour and a half away. I was watching it and assumed it would go way above my price range and i somehow won it for that cheap. Now it's much more expensive making a matching axle for the front
that's a screamin deal Jeremy, as I was ecstatic to get my TJ doors for $250 with a key
You know I'm good at finding those "screaming deals"!!!!! Just don't be afraid to low-ball as you would be surprised how many people accept your offer. He was asking $250 for them (which is still a good deal) and it was on CL for a week or so. I texted him $100 as-is and he surprisingly accepted it.
I sometimes feel a little bad low-balling people, but if you don't low-ball and buy the item, someone else will.

Bought this project CJ7 hunting jeep for $1600 on CL. Had to do a ring job, replace rear axle, replace drive shafts, replace master cylinder, .... and... well, it's a Jeep, but she drives now and it ready to go hunting.
If I can get the turn signal/brake light issue hunted down, she'd be street legal.
