To make a long story short, check out this thread

But yeah, I bought a really nice CJ7 with hard top and doors for $500!

And, my current CJ that I bought for $4675. I had an unsolicited offer for 10k once. BUT, this CJ is not going anywhere!

I picked up an old warn 5687 for $250 bout a year ago. Recently found a beat up old '79 cj that said it had a rebuilt engine in it, the owner even had a receipt from 1997 with $1140 in work for a full rebuild. I was looking for an engine. To my suprize when I got it home and pulled the valve cover the engine had never been fired. Did an engine swap, started it up and been running it for 6 months now. best $500 ever spent, and I have a full parts vehicle.

i sold this cj8 for $500. the frame looked like moldy swiss cheese, is had a crack all the way down the bottom that was about1/4-1/2 wide, the clutch was shot, the motor was unknown. no carb, wiring had been eaten by rats, all tires slowly lost pressure, but the inside was very clean. also had a plow on the front

i miss it a little, knowing that it probably went to a scrapper. i could have done a motor swap with my cj5 whose body was really bad. it would have been a pretty cool cj8 but i made $300 buck on the deal so i was happy

I picked up my 83 CJ7 for $2400. It was the PO's project that he lost interest in, but not until he had done most of the restore minus some sanding and painting, then just put it back together. Then after I bought it I found out it came with over $7000 dollars in parts, all receipts (new Bestop seats, body armor, 1 piece axles, winshield frame, Stainless steel dash, etc, etc.)

Sold the plates (they were for a Ford), and mounted it to a custom front bumper:

I6, T150 and D300 ( I think) all rebuilt less than 2k miles on them complete with hard/soft top and full doors! Comes with 4" lift, DONE RIGHT! with drop arm and such. 33" tires. And a weber carb!

Im happy with her.
