Well... I just went thru this whole thread from the beginning, previously only having looked at the last several pages, and I must say Holy schmoley batman! This will now be added as one of my go-to motivational threads. Great work Jody. You have many of the same issues I have to repair, but not to the extent you had. I can only hope to attack them with the success you've had. That tub is practically all new metal!! I'm hoping you put the access panel in because that's something I plan to do.
I do have a question for you. When you joined two flanges or made a lap joint, then welded it with spot welds, did you first put any kind of sealant between them first? I figure the heat would nullify anything there but I wanted to check to be sure. I plan on the seam sealer doing most of the sealing, after I put a coat of POR on the bare metal.
Also, when I skinned part of my tub back in 96 I used Zero-Rust to coat the backside of the panels that would go against the old body (after cutting out the rust spots); and as I cut out some places to repair this time I'm finding it still in tact in most places, except where there was heavy rust that formed on the old body that was against it. I should have coated the old body too, before covering it with the new skins.

Jody's build is pretty spectacular, and his skill level is very high. We all hold him in high regard, and we're hoping he is coming back. After buying the TJ he may have had enough of the CJ, but for the work he has put into it, I hope not. Keeping fingers crossed...

"After buying the TJ he may have had enough of the CJ"
He doesn't seem the type to be that shallow.
Maybe he was out on his boat and the tiny ship was tossed and set ground on the shore of some uncharted desert isle where there was no phone, no lights no welding wire, not a single luxury.....

LOL!! Somehow, I think Jody could adapt to that. I know for sure I could. Nothing to do but fish. Swim. Fish. Cook Conch. Fish. Swim. Ohmigosh...

I know it was hard to give my CJ love after the TJ… if I had more room I could have (and should have) kept it… And since I got rid of it, I have been busier than ever, so… but who knows, maybe Jody will be back with a finished product!!!

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

The TJ
2005 Wrangler X 4.0/6 speed, Dana 30/Ford 8.8--4.88--Eaton E-Lockers, 35" MT/R, Smittybilt bumpers/rockers/winch, SonicFab tire carrier, RE 3.5 springs, Zone 1.25 BL, FullTraction 3 link upper rear, RE super flex lower rears, UCF ultra high skid and lo/pro mount, brown dog mml.

This is probably one of those times when we all wish we had PM him at one point in time and gotten a phone number, huh? At this point, if I dropped off, there's Shawn who's got my back.... something to say about our community... I hope all of you have at least one "active" member who can get in touch with you outside of the forum. Not to sound like a little ol' gramma, but it makes you wonder sometimes when you don't hear from someone for a while.

Really!? I wish he would have said something. I sent him a Christmas card. Maybe he will check in.
