Post leafs and coils

Ever since I bought my 74 CJ5 a couple years ago it has had both coil and leaf springs front and rear. Im sure this isnt the factory setup, but would there be any advantage or disadvantage for me to keep it like this?

Sounds like someone put an after market set of coil helper springs in, probably in an attempt to give some lift back to tired leaf springs. do they bolt to the axle housing with U-bolts and hit the frame at the bump stops?
They may interfere with articulation if you wheel it hard. Park the jeep on a level surface and measure the bumper height, pull out the helper springs and measure again, see if they make a difference.( i would get rid of them all together) They may also make the ride stiffer.
