This auction is for one original Jeep/AMC windshield wiper knob with the white graphic of the washer and wiper on it. It is in good condition as the pics show. I think this design is correct up to '81. It's just a question of......How perfectly correct do you want your restoration to be?
Don't let this one get away!
Well, it would be easier to use than the one I have to find rolling about the floor, and push back on to turn.

http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2914530405.html

Again we have a high-priced CJ with a description that omits important details, and no link to detailed photos.
This 1983 Jeep CJ7 Laredo has been fully restored. It is in immaculate condition, and perfect for any jeep enthusiast, or anyone looking to upgrade to a classic Jeep in mint condition! This Jeep also features a brand new 10 ton winch on the front. This vehicle has been rebuilt with the following: New Paint, Stripe Kit, Fender Flares, Fog Lights, Maxi Light Bar, Rebuilt Engine, New Drive Shaft, Rebuilt Carburetor, Rebuilt Differentials (front and rear), Shakle Reverse Kit, New A/C, New Carpet, New Radio/Speakers/CD Changer, And tons of others.
Laughable? Yes, at the $30,000 price!

At least you get a CD changer.

Saw this one today and just had to add it. It's a 95 tj wragler... Lol. With a Dana 40 front axle. And don't call him if you have the vaguest idea about jeeps.

Wow. What a butchered piece of work that is. This line stood out:
"amc 20 with mosure one piece hardened shafts and locked"
"mosure"?

Also, one has to suspect that the "locked" may mean "welded together".

You know, the owner is probably proud that he's got this pieced together Frankenstein CJ, but I wouldn't touch it or pay a dime for it. I suspect that so many corners were cut and it has so many lurking problems that it'd only be a continual waste of time to work on.

I wonder what that orange ratchet strap is holding together?

Also, this is yet another auction where the owner can't take the time to roll the thing out of the garage and wash it before taking a photo. Maybe it's just me, but if you don't have pride enough in your Jeep (or whatever you're selling), to clean it up before thing to sell it, then I don't have much faith it's worth what you're asking for it. [/soapbox]

Here's the pic from the CL ad:

A Dana 40 front axle? That kicks A55! I guess it's a front axle that's twice as strong as an AMC 20 rear axle. I want one! Maybe just a bit weaker than a Dana 44, but with some Mosure axles and locked it would be more than enough to handle 33" tires.

its absurd! lol did he forget to re-attach the rear fenders? and who would ever pay $4500? I would look past this ad even if i needed a parts jeep.

This one made me laugh: CJ-5 Extended ROCKCRAWLER GREAT INVESTMENT

Maybe it's the words "CJ" and "Great investment" so close to each other. I love that he mentions over $25000 has been spent on it over the years, but he's got a BIN price of $14000. I tend to think of investments as gaining value, but I guess not all "great" ones do.

Wow. Here's his reasoning:
"..it is a Classic and Collectors item, so any bank deems it worth even more than $14000OBO. Last I checked, my Bank said its worth over $17000. Its an investment! It has increased over $3000 in 2 years"
So let me see if I understand this: Any bank says it's worth 14K, but his bank said it's worth $17K, so that means the value has increased by over $3K.

Maybe he could get $3K for it.

He forgot to mention the special "self immolation" mod. any pinto owner would love the prospect of sitting within 2 feet of a 5 gallon can of fuel. Wonder if the lighter works?
