I would love to have a shirt with this last of a great breed sticker on it. Anyone ever seen them?
I take great offense to Chrysler, and hence their AJ,BJ,DJ,EJ,....XJ,YJ, &ZJ owners considering their products to be true Jeep's. If I buy a Suzuki and put a Jeep decal or two on it, does that also make it a Jeep? These latest versions have more in common with Hummer's than they do with Jeep's!
R.I.P. JEEP 1986 -Truly a sad year in the off road world.

Last of a Great Breed

I have a 86 CJ7 with the dash plaque and Dana 44 rear end. The plaque is located over the volt/oil pressure gauges. I have owned the jeep since 86 but I'm the 2nd owner the 1st owner only had it a couple of months and sold it because he lost his job. My jeep is triple black with 33,000 original miles. The jeep vin decoder web site identifies that the last six numbers are the sequential manufactor serial number. My last six are 119362. The original owner purchased the jeep new on June 16, 1986 from Jasper Jeep Sales for $9,500. I have been offered twice that for the jeep but I'm not interested in selling since I've owned the Jeep for over 25 years. I have the original owners manual, Whitco top manual, bill of sale, etc.

Last of a great breed

Hello All,
I'm the proud owner of an 86 with the Dana 44 rear, 286/T5,
power steering, brakes, tilt column...Anyway, last 6 digits of my Vin are 113985.
Unfortunately, no sticker! If it was there, and from what I'm reading it should have been, someone must have removed it along time ago. What a shame!!!
So glad I read this thread.....

I own an 86 Laredo. It has a Dana 44 rear and had the plaque on the left side of the steering wheel over the speaker. 258/3-speed automatic transmission. Factory AC and PB/PS jeep. Burgundy with original black Laredo interior still in tact. I'll post pics when I have time. Vin is 114591.

No plaque on my 86 and I dont know if it ever had one but it has the Dana 44, t5, 258, ps, pb, tilt, tach, clock.

Vin # 062757

Does anyone know when they began putting that tag on the CJ7? Was it the entire 1986 model year or only the last part of that production run?

Weren't those decals a dealer installed option? Don't think they came from the factory that way.
