Yeah, My 86 Laredo is an early year at .....29572. Both the frame and original engine had date codes of Aug 23rd 1985. I did swap in a late 86 Dana 44 and I bought a last breed badge off E-bay many years ago but never put it on. I do believe it is real though based on the aged stickie back and the corners match the real ones I've seen.....there are repos out there that are a toutch different (mainly the thickness and the corners). The real ones I've seen have always been centered in the dash area above the left speaker grill. Only the Jamboree plates were by the OIL/VOLT gauges. But as said, anything goes I guess. I don't know if I'll put my plate on as I know it wasn't one of the last bunch but I guess it doesn't matter as I've had it 20 years and have no desire to ever sell it.
I am the third owner of my '86. I have the original Owner's Manual with the dealer's and vehicle's information in the front cover. I shows a "Date of First Use" of 2/22/86. The last six number of the vin are 115356. It has the Dana 44 rear but no sticker. It sold from Bill Stallard AMC Jeep Center in Odessa, TX.
