Kid looking for a Jeep.

Hey, I'm almost 15 years old, and I love CJ's. My dad is having foot surgery at the begining of March and can't work for at least 2 months. I thought that it might make a great opportunity for a father/son project. I was thinking about buying a rusted old CJ7 with a good frame, and a decent motor, then fixing it up. I would put a new steel body on it, then put that paint stuff on it so it won't rust as easily. How much do you guys think my budget would be? I would probably have to add a few more dollars, just because I would need new things here and there. Also, do you know of anywere that I could buy such a CJ7?

PS: My's Dad has done this before with my mom's '82 CJ5.

Thanks!

There are several jeeps for sale on this website.

You could also try jeep-classifieds.com

It lets you bring up jeeps for sale across the country by sale or by your state.

I found the best way to find a jeep is to cruise around your hometown on backroads and look around very carefully. I stumbled upon mine when I went on vacation with a few friends to the beach, sitting in a trailerpark. It is rusty on the body, but it runs and has a good frame (and the price was good). What I've always seen online however is that everything seems overpriced. Thats why I feel you should take a look around where you live, your almost guranteed to find some jeeps sitting around, but getting people to sell them can be tough. Apparently some people would rather see them rot. Where are you from by the way?
