I just traded for an 1980 golden hawk cj7 and was wondering whats so special about it, I've done some research on the web and the only thing I can find is that it is rare and was only offered for 6 months or about. I was thinking of doing some major mods but I would like to know about if it is worth anything factory or not.

It is a rare bird indeed, but CJ's don't really draw much intere$t from collector$. Most folks have never heard of it and would insist that you're mistaken and must have a Golden Eagle or that you're just making it up. If it's in nice shape, leave it alone and sell it to someone who's looking for a nice clean CJ, otherwise, have at it.
