Just orderd a stainless steel dash from Morris4x4!

I just placed an order for a Stainless Steel dash for my 80 CJ7. The factory only has one speaker hole and I really wanted two 5 1/4" speakers up front. Plus, all the stainless steel dashes that I've seen look really good IMO. Also, I plan to put some switches in the dash for offroad lights. I'm planning on getting it put in in the next few weeks so I will keep you posted on how it turns out.

Has anyone else ordered their replacement dash from Morris 4x4? Any tips for replacing it? Thanks!

I got the 4th one up from the bottom. It has holes for all the factory gauges, glove compartment, stereo, and two speaker holes:

Pretty sure the ones sold by Morris 4x4 are from Logans Metals. http://www.logansmetals4x4.com/index.html
I got mine from them when they were selling on eBay. Jamie Logan is a good guy and makes an excellent product!

Piece of cake replacing the dash.

oh.... if you are going to put on a dash pad and the rubber bumpers for the glove box you will have to drill those holes. I drilled and tapped them and used stainless steel machine screws.

It looks like they are the same ones. Same ID number!

Good to hear that they're a good product. I would have bought mine directly from him if I had seen that a little sooner. It would have saved me about $20 too with the cost of shipping.

Thanks for the tips, I am planning on keeping my dash pad so thanks for the heads up about drilling holes. I'll be sure to post pics whenever I get it in.

It really is a nice dash. It arrives in a custom crate they make to protect it during shipping. I also drilled out the existing holes for the steering column cover a little bigger and tapped the same as the dash pad. The steel is thick enough to get good threads. I think I used a 10-32 tap.

Here is pic of it going in:

And finished. I went back and drilled a hole under the volt gauge to install a marine-grade 12v socket for my GPS. Clamped a block of wood on the back and used a hole saw.

Sweet dash. Mine just arrived yesterday although it's black powder coated. My initial thought was to paint it whatever color I decide to paint the jeep, but it really looks good as is with the contrast of black and chrome. Hmmm...

PWA_FCVA,

Can you give me a dimension from the bottom of the dash to the bottom of the dash pad. (See pic).

Disappointing!! I just got home from work and there was a huge crate by my door. I was expecting it to be my dash, but they mailed me the wrong one!! I ordered one with all the cut outs, and they sent me the model without the cutouts for the clock and tach!! UUGGHH!!! I was fired up about receiving this and ready to put it in this weekend, but it looks like thats getting delayed! I just tried calling, and they're already closed for the day so I have to call back in the morning. How many times can companies screw up my order in a 2 month period (JC Whitney sent me the wrong soft top a month ago!)??

In case anyone is wondering though, it was packaged really nicely so that it won't get dinged up. It looks great, its just not the dash that I ordered!

UPDATE:

I just got off the phone with a guy at Morris 4x4 and he was very nice and helpful. They are going to exchange it for the part I ordered and they're going to pay the shipping. I will FedEx it back today and let everyone know when I get the replacement in.

Just to confirm, most of our stainless steel dash panels are indeed Logans. We also carry the Kentrol but they are not as popular. We have been impressed with their quality since the first one we saw a few years ago. With the forum discount (use "FORUM9" at checkout), I think we are a few dollars less. If you guys ever have an issue with our company that you can't get resolved through our customer service manager (Ash), feel free to e-mail me directly egajewski@cyberjeep.com.

By the way, I'm not in sales. If you need a quote or help placing an order please contact Tom at theminger@cyberjeep.com

After a confusion and being sent the wrong dash AGAIN, I now have the correct dash and hope to get it installed in the next 2 weeks. I'll be out of town this weekend and won't have any time to work on it.

Although, there was some confusion about my order at Morris 4x4, the people there are very friendly and have been very easy to work with. I would still reccomend them highly.

Here is the correct dash before install:
