Just had to share my Uncle's luck

He lives out in a rural area, a perfect place for Jeeps. He was helping another nephew do some moving. I think he just loaned him the flatbed trailer he owns, and the truck to pull it. Well, my Uncle was over there helping with some stuff, and they started talking about the CJ7. He told my uncle he hardly ever drove it, and would sell it to him for $750. That's right, $750. So a week or two goes by, and he gets home one day to see his truck and trailer had been returned to his house. With the Jeep on the flatbed.

He just showed me a cell phone pic of it, but he said it is in stock condition, and there's not a thing wrong with it. He's been driving my cousins kids around in it a good bit. Said it runs great.

I offered him $1,500, jokingly, but he said he was going to keep it for now. I told him if he ever wants to get rid of it to call me first.

He's, shall we say, technologically challenged. The pic was on my aunt's phone. His is old school. One of those Southern Lync phones. If I'm down that way soon I'll snap some, from the drivers seat!

Just a bump to say that he still won't sell it to me! I saw my aunt a couple weekends ago, and she showed me a few pics. It looks great. I told her that if they ever decide to get rid of it to let me know. I'd be down there in about 3 hours with cash.

Does your uncle just happen to use a Southern Linc phone because he works for an electric utility?

He's actually got an iphone now. He drives a log truck for a paper mill/sawmill. It is very rural down there, and most of the truckers and their families had a southern linc to keep in touch while on the road. I think he still has some sort of CB or radio in his truck, but my aunt and he both got iphones last year or so because thier daughter had one, or an ipad, I can't remember, and they liked to facetime with their grandkids who live like an hour away.

I saw it for the first time in person last weekend. Sad situation, as it was because my Grandpa passed. But my Uncle was showing me around his place since it has been a few years since I had been there. He has a big metal barn out back, and he keeps the Jeep in there. It doesn't have a top or doors. Just a bikini top. And it is a 4 cylinder. He was telling me that when he bought it, the nephew asked him if he wanted it. He sort of hemmed and hawed at him and said I don't think I need a Jeep. Then he gave him the price, and he changed his tune and said, well, maybe I do need a Jeep! And of course I told him I should be the first one he should call if he gets tired of it or wants to get rid of it. It is in pretty good shape. I didn't see much rust at all. The flares have been chewed up a little, but the frame and body is in decent shape for something that old.
