Jim,
I always enjoy catching up on your build thread. Your work is top notch, and your pics and documentation are excellent.
Great job, my friend.

I've thought the same towards you all too! If we were neighbors you could just stop by and use the equipment so I wouldn't have to do any work.

Thanks Scott. Well this makes 33 years in the same trade so something has to stick with a fellow after that many years.

Nice yolk you got there. I too, plan on going to the 1350's on the 9" & t- case rear output

Sorry for the wrong link. Here's the place I got the yoke http://stores.ebay.com/Quick-Performance-Inc and here's another place that has a pretty good supply of Ford stuff http://broncograveyard.com/?google=bronco
I'll put this over on your thread too.

Thanks Matt! I enjoy doing this stuff as I'm sure you have the work you're putting into your CJ. It makes things go allot better when things work like that.

Now the coffee's coming out my nose too.
I have three. Do the two middle ones combine to make a Middle Child Squared?
Owwww - there's an ugly thought.
Jim - no more tomfoolery... sorry for the tangent...

Jim - Mom making me help you would be like having Homer Simpson help A. Einstein with math.
No Mom would be that cruel.

No rules here about tomfoolery or tangents. Lets just try to keep it out of PRC....I'm banned from there.

Comparing me to Einstein is dangerous. I could do the ecentric wierd part just fine but the math....well that's a stretch.
All kidding aside though, as I look through what's posted on the forum I'm always finding out there's allot I don't know. I see ideas that people try and think to myself, why didn't I think of that. I can't think of anyone that hasn't contributed to the forum and even my own personal work efforts. We've got a great place to come and throw ideas around, seek and get help and make friends with like minded people. My experience here has all been good. With all that being said if our mom made us help each other we'd both get good out of it.

I have another custom part idea, Jim. Wondering if you would make it for me. I'll PM you the details. I don't know how much aggravation it would be to set it up? I know my attempt failed! Not by much, mind you, but failure still. I need to mail you the stuff and you modify it for me. Holler at you later... we're headed to the river.

I think that all the time. It's amazing how ingenious people can be. I know for a fact that without forums, I'd be lost...the job would probably get done, but take four times as long, and not come out as good.

I've got a question for you guys. I started putting the brake parts back on the axle and wanted the calipers on the back side of the axle, more out of the way. I think that they may be sitting too low. Now they are at the 9:00 position and I think they'd be better at the 10:00 - 11:00 position. Only way I can do that is to make some new brackets since the ones supplied in this kit won't allow for that. So what do you all think? New brackets to get them where they should be?
Also these brackets are pretty generic. They attach using the same bolts that hold the bearing flange in place. They're grade 8 bolts but they're on such a small radius I'm concerned with bigger tires they may not be strong enough, no room for bigger bolts either.
We also went and visited some friends in northern Illinois over the weekend. They happen to live close to Mike (Coiz), another friend . Anyway gave Mike a call ahead of time and we made plans to do some shooting Saturday morning. We spent quite a bit of lead too! Everybody had a great time. Of course as you can see Mike drove his CJ . It looks even better in person than in the thread. I marvelled at his attention to details and finish. We got all finsihed shooting and he suggested I give his Jeep a spin. Trusting soul! It was tough for me to keep my foot out of the 5.0 but I didn't want to be responsible for another yoke getting destroyed. To say I like it is an understatement.
Now for the part you all don't know about. Mike seems to me to be one of those guys that never gets in trouble, never abuses his Jeep and in general would never try to pass on a county road and exceed the speed limit. Well all I can say is that a Dodge 5.8 needs a little more umph to get around a CJ with a Ford 5.0 in it.

Maybe my ignorance is going to pop out here, but I don't see anything wrong with the current position of your calipers. I like how you can rotate that hose and line it up/run it down on your axle for protection too. Assuming you are going to run the lines in the factory position.
Wish I could meet Mike, and so many of you guys. Mike passing you on a back road with the 7 put a smile on my face.
