Hi there. I got talking and bouncing ideas around with my retired father-in-law, (edit- who was a mechanic his whole life) then went out and trial fitted 3 washers- MUCH better. I have both anti-squeal shims in and everything centers nicely over the rotor now.

I didn't want 3 loose washers chaffing and spalling around on each other back there so I cranked up my mig with .035 wire and tack welded them in place with everything bolted up tight. Disassembled everything then made them permanently solid. Here are some pics below.

I'm really happy with the results.

A Few Pics

Popped the hood on and snapped a few pics. It's nice to put in an hour here and an hour there with out a schedule to adhere to. Not much to show but better than words!

Yep. The trackbars are on hold until I get the ride height established. The Johnny Joints are waiting to get welded on to them but the the bars need to get a few bends. I do still have to drill and bolt the tub down. That should happen before the drive-train gets looked at.

I have an NP205 master rebuild kit waiting. Also, two NP435s that I got from RebelRacing. They need to get opened up and have some parts swapped. Then there is the twin stick mod for the NP205 that I'm looking forward to doing...

Then... the MMs

Left Rear Caliper Bracket All Done

Took an hour to grind and polish the rear left caliper bracket today. Here are 3 pics showing the progress. It sure is nice to see the rear end so close to being finished. I have the brackets primed tonight and caliper paint ordered and here tomorrow in the am.
The first pic show the left bracket mounted with the final lines marked off to grind the outside radius and polish up.

The left bracket almost finished.

Tada!!!

You've got things looking great Jim. Brakes turned out good and ought to provide you with plenty of stopping power. The hood does make it look closer to completion. That would have been a good time to sit back in the lazy boy and study your work. Us older guys really know how to do that part.

Hope you enjoyed Christmas!

This build is really awesome. I started viewing it a while back and found it again. Progress is looking good. I just wish I had a nice place to work on my junk.

Hope you enjoyed Christmas!
Doing too much sitting around already! My daughter and father-in-law left for a 10 hour drive to get back to Edmonton this morning and the home is quiet again. My dagther actually came out to the garage and cozied up in the chair with a blanket and did some serious resting there for me! A blanket and a kindle is all it took to make her content.

My Christmas was great. I hope yours was, too.

So a few more dumb pics!

I actually have the caliper brackets torqued up tight and hopefully for good! I ordered two cans of caliper paint yesterday but delivery is slow here in the Rockies/Kootenays, so I went back to NAPA and bought red. Not my first choice- kind to ordinary and tackey but at least they are sealed up now and installed. Kind of boring pics but why not post them for posterity sake!

The pluming will come later and that will be real fast and easy.
