Thanks, Dave! It looks like we started a couple months apart on our projects but you're going to finish before me! Add to that the work on your daughter's truck and you seem to be Super Dad!

I'm going to be working slowly for a while now as I have done not a bad solo black op on our bank account!

I have been wondering, lately, if there is any job that can be done that doesn't cost too much? Hmmm...

I figure maybe rear caliper brackets should be cheap. Here is what I'm looking at. With my pinion angle set my rear drum back plate bracket is also angled:

It isn't this steep. More like 11 degrees back. To get my caliper bleed nipple oriented vertically I have this sorted out so far:



The camera doesn't show the shape well, so here is the drawing:

I'm using 3 bolts instead of two to hold the caliper bracket to the axle. The bracket will be 3/8 plate. The bracket will position the caliper over the rotor at 10 o'clock or so with the nipple perfectly vertical. Those will be big back brakes!
Now, cutting, drilling, more cutting then finishing x 2!

Thanks ChiliPalmer. I appreciate your input. Die purchases have been pushed back a month so I won't even be ordering them till the new year. If you have a chance to use the software I'd like to know how it worked out. If the numbers are accurate it sure will make for efficient and speedy work = no wasted time or material.

Wow, I had to sign up for the forum but the Commando build was nice. Looks like Mile Marker lockers with those familiar looking rims. Also- he used twin sticks... nice! Thanks for the link. Jeepsters and Commandos are so cool.

I agree about Jeepsters and Commandos, I had one for a while but never did anything with it and finally sold it to a guy in Colorado.
