Honestly, I don't know what to look for- really. I hadn't looked past just using a cherokee hp dana30 for the front and a ford 8.8 in back... Maybe I should just stick with what I know, but there sure is a "cool thing" about putting something a little different together.

you want to do something unique? put unimog 404 portal axles under there. no lift with 37s. that would be awesome.

Slow down there sport. I'm ONLY splurging on the frame and tub. Everything else is comparatively minor. I own a couple of 327s and one 350 already. I have the 700R4 already and 5 tcases to chose from... I know it'll be a while before I'm done, but the big tickets are mostly done, now.

The trouble is just axles. Mostly because I don't know enough yet...

Thanks That's just what I had to find out- 78 or 79 F250s are what I'm looking for now.

No kidding! As soon as I get a pair of axles I'll be back into heavey production. Narrowing, new axles shafts, brackets... This is where the fun is.

I hate shopping. It is too easy to throw in the towel and just buy something mostly done already- ready to bolt in. I don't want to do it that way, nor can I afford it. I have few possibilities on Dana 60s though and need to follow them through.

Don't forget about the Ford 9" axles or doing a hybrid D60/ 14 bolt combo.

I saw that on TV a while ago- the 60-9 setup, or sounding kind of hinky- the 69.

I'm thinking about a D60/14 bolt combo for myself.( shaved or flipped ) But this is your rig so, here's a few threads to read through. These are TJ's and running all sorts of axles, Tires, and tranny combo's. But you can learn a lot and get a few ideas along the way. Make sure you look through the whole 1st post top and bottom. Tons of info.

OK- That is exactly what I've found this morning. I called up a friend then dropped by. He has a NEW front Dana 60 4.56 in box with brakes right from GM. Been sitting in a corner for years.

And a corporate 14 bolt for the rear for no charge but the gears are wrong.
