Yes, I love taking rusty junk to the powder coaters and getting it back all new and shiny. I think I have all the pieces done now so that I can put the beast back together. I can't wait until Friday because I'm off work until Jan 3rd. Lot's of time over the break to get some much needed work done on the Yeti.

Auto meter

Buddy, I have been fighting with Auto Meter for the better part of 4 months on their white faced guages and my jeep. I installed them similar to your proposed layout minus the turn signals, etc. and it has been a nightmare getting the tech reps to understand what is going on with the sending units. I purchased them from Quadratec and I an about ready to go back to traditional guages.

Really! What issues exactly with what gauges in particular? I would assume the fuel gauge would be the hardest to work with/get set up correctly. Looks like the others would be simple to install/get working. I'd love to hear details if you care to share.

If it is of imterest to you, I have seen where a piece of metal tubing was used and the end cut at a bevel; and I have seen where a too large diameter piece was used, a slot cut, and the circle drawn up to the correct size and tacked. I have also seen it done in PVC. The other option is to bend yourself a kicker panel. Double D Fab probably builds the finest dashes available, but I am a poor man, so we made our own.

The powder coated pieces look fabulous!

Impressive thread. Double D dash....

I'm going to have to figure out how to angle those meters without breaking down and buying a DD dash. Sigh...

Looks great Jester....just out of curiosity since i have never researched it,...how much are you paying for the powder coating? I have never looked into it since it seems real pricey.

I got a guy that does it for $125-$150, depending on the number of items I give him. Set up fee is a minimal $125.

What part of the metroplex is he located? I will have sopme parts I want to get done and would like to maximize my effort. I see some guy out of Garland on CL all the time and he has some nice pics, but seems a little pricey, but if I bring him a lot of work, might be able to bring it down.

I put an 80-grit flap disk sanding wheel on my grinder and polished out all the grind marks on the frame and gave it a fresh coat of paint just to tidy things up.
I have similar PO modification on the rear of my frame that I need to remove. What type of disc did you use on your grinder to remove them?
