Jeepster Not CJ but still a new jeep to me.

Not sure where this fits but had to share.

After about 15 years of subtle and some not so subtle hints my neighbor down the road sold me his 1971 Jeep Commando. He is the original owner.

The bad news
he has let it sit uncovered all this time and then some under some oak trees and the top and hatch are a rusty mess.

The good new
It is all there. Has the Dana 44 rear end The factory hub caps are in great condition. The body is not as bad as the top but will need some attention but worth what eve effort is put into it. The frame and drivetrain are fine with no major issues. I think it has the 400 auto tranny. And he sold it to me for $250.00

It is a project for down the road but after some initial cleaning it will put up just fine until it gets on the docket.

I will take some pics and try to post them this weekend

Where on this site should I be going from here on out?

Great buy! I have always liked them. You can just keep your Commando right here in the CJ section.

Congrats! Would love to see pics of the factory hubcaps and dash (in particular).

Nice. I have my daughter's '71 Commando sitting in a storage unit until I can get started on it. Bring on the pics!

Jeeps go in the CJ or FSJ section. The Jeepster is closer to a CJ than a FSJ, but I'm sure you would be welcomed in both places

The rest of the crap goes in the chrysler section. Most of those people won't know what a Jeepster is.
