Jeep thing

Temperature hit 27° here in action packed NW Louisiana last night. Felt like -27° with the humidity.

I decided to go for a spin in my '76 CJ7.

Girlfriend demanded doors.

I said no.

Girlfriend stayed home.

I drove around for about 2 hours. No doors. No heat.

I was so cold when I returned that my entire face would move as one unit when I tried to talk.

It was frigg'n incredible.

I proposed to my wife in the Grand Canyon. drove a YJ there (through Sedona) and spent the night in Flagstaff. There was 18" of snow on the ground, and the top off the Jeep was still in Scottsdale...

...Top? ...Top? ...Real Jeeps don't need no stinkin TOP!!!

Seriously, I can't for the life of me figure out why folks want to own a Jeep and never take the top off! I have had my latest CJ for 6 years this February and have not put the top back on it at all. Folks just look at me with blank stares when I try to explain to them that I don't WANT a top!

Times like those are why I have a Cherokee for my bad weather vehicle! Good heat and A/C and still somewhat of Jeep, much less embarrassing than rolling up in some crappy Jap car... :-)

Minnnnnnnnnnesota. My CJ7 came with a Hard top for the northern climate and a bikini soft top for our summer. Need to get the full soft top yet for summer. Nice to have the Hard Top when doing my work and test drives the past few wks.

Believe it or not with Ford Blower, Hard top, 258 heat keeps up even with the extream cold. Once warm med blower (#2 of 3) is engough to keep warm.
