BTW, anybody notice anything different about the front? It's minor, but it was bugging me.

Not sure about the wheels fitting with the disks. I had to change to wagon wheels to clear my calipers. I've got a nv3550 and a Dana 300 with the Tera low gears and love it.

James, how do you like the 3550? I had the 5600 in my '01 Ram and loved it. Is it a stout transmission? Will it bolt to a 258 with no mods?

BTW, I found guy back in '02 in Cleveland, GA, through Hemmings, to make the original dual exhaust for my 1972 402 Suburban. He had the original jig.

I really like it. It has a known issue while engine breaking in second it tends to pop out. No adapter for the 258 (it's out of a 2004 Tj) but had to get an advanced adapter for the d300.
That's crazy brother this is one of the most unique places I've ever lived.

Haven't posted in a couple of months...been keeping busy with never-ending honey-do lists. Went to the Dodge dealership today to get the oil changed. I would have done it myself, but I did all the brakes/rotors on the wife's BMW and my back and knees are down for the count. These two green Mopars were sitting out front so, with permission, I parked mine and took the pic. Theirs might be new, but people passing by stopped to ask me about mine. It's a good day but not yet a dry heat...

Congrats Fred!

Now you have one of those rare "low mileage" survivors we see on eBay and CL.

The Vin sticker on the dash does not have a build date, however when I took the heater box apart to replace the core, the stamping on the back said May 25, 1976. The engine is from April 1976, if I remember right.

Coupled with the ultra rare paint scheme, I should be able to easily get $70,000, right?

Good to see you out and about, Fred. The old CJ looks good sitting out in front of that new stuff.

Slowly but surely I'm trying to feel like my old self. Unfortunately, one of the problems with being retired is that you have way too much time to think about the past and lost friends.

That thinking got the best of me last year, and I ended up a guest of the Canyon County Detention Hotel for two weeks. Not one of my finer moments.

The VA takes its sweet time to get vets into the proper counseling they need and it's no wonder 24 kill themselves each day. Thankfully I had a great judge and I got the help I needed...the Assistant DA, nicknamed "The Ice Queen", wanted 10 years; I got counseling and probation.

Now I'm concentrating on family and our 1976 Monaco motorhome, to tow the 1976 CJ-5. It's getting a new 360 powerplant that's being built as I type. I'm also swapping out the Holley 2245 2BBL for a correct 1976 Thermo-Quad 4BBL. Should wake it up a bit.

Next year I'm planning a trip to Arlington, to say goodbye to friends, close that chapter of my life, & hopefully get some closure.
