I am so frigging tired! I got a bunch of parts today, including the fresh air box, but given that it's aftermarket, it isn't exact. I had to drill out the rivets of the cable bracket on the old box and position it on the new box, because the existing bracket is completely wrong. This means that I have to take the box off, drill the holes and then rivet the old bracket on the new box. Ah well, at least everything fits.

I also replaced the thermostat housing with the one from The Jeep With No Name, because this one was aluminum and cracked, causing a slow leak. I sharpened my chisel, scraped all of the RTV goop off of the head, cleaned the No Name housing and painted it, bought a new 195° thermostat and gasket and reinstalled with Indian Head. Then I bought some metal tubing and a bender, so that I could fab up some new vacuum line from the CTO to the EGR BPS and carb. I also bought 3/4" heater hose and a step-down fitting to use 5/8" hose to the heater core. I also took the CTO off, cleaned it and painted it and reinstalled with teflon tape. I took the temp sender off, cleaned it too and reinstalled with teflon tape as well. I took my radiator to the shop to have it re-cored (it was leaking), but they wanted $338 to do that, so I asked about a new rad....the gal calls some store and I hear her say, "$149.40". She hangs up and tells me, "It'll cost $268.80". I literally said, "WTF!?!?!?!" So I grabbed my radiator and left. Now I need to find a good source for a 3-row rad.

The new sector for my steering column came in, and I can start putting it back together. I scuffed the key housing and painted it with Duplicolor Low-Gloss Black.

So you can see that I've been busy and still have a little ways to go.

I admire your motivation, Fred.

I fired my Ol' Girl up this evening and realized the alternator had taken a *****. So I removed it, attempted to take the pulley off without a puller and couldn't budge it, said f-it, and poured a cocktail.

My motivation is not having heat, Matt, nothing more.

I'm on my 2nd beer right now. Might move to Johnnie Walker in a bit.

Brooke is down for the count with a cold, so I made her some hot milk with honey. I was so damn tired that I put the honey bottle in the microwave for 20 seconds....when I went to open it and pour it in the cup, it exploded on me.....napalm honey is a real mother.

Stupidity should be painful or expensive.

I hope Brooke feels better in morning....and her sister loses interest in her significant other.

Always entertaining to check in on your thread.

Well, I learned something tonight, don't make your wife mad, when she's sick.

I stay far away from my wife when she's sick.

Vicki.) I really don't feel good.
Bill.) I can tell, You moaned and complained all night. Is there anything I can do to help?
Vicki.) No, ( followed by more moaning)
Bill.). Ok, let me know if you need anything, I'll be in the garage.

Here she is circa 1975.

I don't know why she looked so happy, given that i knew her husband at the time. he was a poor excuse for a husband and a Dad. 18 years later we got married.

So what is it with older guys? The synapse is slower. Why you reckon that is? It gets worse, Fred.

I don't understand why posting half-naked pics of her on a public forum would upset her.

I see you've destroyed the evidence. Probably a good move on your part.

I wondered what he did, moral of the story, use caution when posting after beer and J Walker. Been there done that.
