Jeep Air?

Well I just ordered the Jeep air kit for AC and heater. Im already getting the thing painted and pretty as my Girlfriend says. And neither she or my mother can get lots of sun. A black softtop is a sauna in the summer, So I am adding AC I am actually excited as well.

In the Sandbox a truck with AC and the dpoors off was way better than a truck with no AC or doors .

It was a tough Choice Supercharger or AC. Well Common sense Made won this one , where my Jeeps fast enough as it is . My question is an easy one How does anyone like them. I spoke to the owner and was Very Knowlegable, Knew what I was going to need even though I am running a Newer GM engine. Hes goiong to adapt a few hoses since the kits are set up forother Compressors. free of charge. I think my total Bill will be about 750 with the defroster and such.
I work at a partstore parttime after college so I used my discount to buy the compressor.

I still have all my stock AC components but the compressor is shot. Been thinking of restoring the system, but that's not on my to-do list yet.

Hope someone can chime in for ya!

That's interesting. Get that installed before heading to DFW too! You're starting to become my guinea pig! Haha!

I have a generic under dash unit, it worked well enough when it was hooked up. Not pretty but these sorts of parts are cheap and it allows generic parts and hoses etc under the hood.

The only sad thing with saving up and getting your Jeep done all at once , just means there is nothing left to dream about . I have gotten the best (for my application) parts and components. and now have no reason for all these parts catalogs.

My final bill for oll the AC parts 740 for the Kit plus compressor. Less than 900 i have everything minus the oil and freon.

One is never enough! Ha!

I'm hoping to build an 8 from the ground up in a couple years. I know it'd be cheaper to salvage one, but I want one that's brand-spanking new.

Might be cheaper but then your still left with some 30 year old parts. I replaced everything that I could and Only reused what i could replace later easily. Thats why I think If I do another toy It will be a cobra kit car. and I know of a guy who has a 8 its Low mileage and he wont part with the think its sharp. One of the guys in my "Hood" have a and 8 with a cracked block perfect for someone who would want to tear it down and rebuild.

I have always been biased to the 5s . Smaller then the 7s and wranglers so a bit more sporty looking . I can see why they went to the 7s My 5 is pretty usless for holding anything more than me and a passenger plus some gear thats about it . If Jeep ever makes a wrangler based truck ill pick one of those up but till then No more jeeps Muahaah

That's my reasoning with a complete build. Also, that's why I want an 8. Even more room for gear . I'd like to pick up the one with the cracked block now, but I'm a couple of years from any new projects. A cobra kit car would be sweet! I've always dreamed of doing a 68 Z28.....
